Evaluated the safety of novel ingredients for use in functional foods and new molecular entities for use in pharmaceutical products.

Provided product development and marketing support for clinically-tested weight loss products for a direct sales company.

Substantiated the labeling claims for food products intended for broadcast on network television advertisements.

Established and administered scientific and medical advisory boards with membership with expertise in a wide variety of disciplines including, medicine, life sciences, marketing, business development, accounting, corporate law, and patent law.

Optimized an innovation environment by “de-silo-ing” an R&D department with integrating the formulation laboratories, quality analytical laboratory, and the pilot lab with the manufacturing and distribution functions and the remaining supply chain.

Spearheaded an industry trade group to gain recognition by a worldwide authoritative body polyol ingredients (e.g., sorbitol) may be used safely in food.

Helped a trade association determine the safety profile of herbal extract of the kava plant in the face of reports of liver failure and market cessation.

Assisted defense attorneys in litigation involving the safety and regulatory disposition of a series of dietary supplement products.

Prepared GRAS determinations for over 45 substances used in food and dietary supplements commercialized in the U.S. market.
